Phantasy Star Zero Announced for the Nintendo DS

Posted on 10 September 2008 by Jarrid Stacy

A new Phantasy Star game for the Nintendo DS was announced in Famitsu’s latest magazine. Sega stated that the new title, Phantasy Star Zero, will support up to four players, have multi-player WiFi capabilities, and even a nifty feature for players to be able to draw sketches within the chat system. Phantasy Star Portable was released in Japan a couple of months ago, and it is selling very well (500,000 copies shipped after the first week it was in stores), so there is a bright future for this Phantasy Star title for a possible release elsewhere. Phantasy Star Zero will be out in Japan this winter.

Edit: According to TheMagicBox.com, Phantasy Star Zero is a prequel to Phantasy Star Online. Fun stuff.

Phantasy Star Portable: 500,000 Shipped in Japan

Posted on 11 August 2008 by Jarrid Stacy

Since it was first released last month on the 31st in Japan, Sega announced they have shipped over 500,000 copies of Phantasy Star Portable for the PlayStation Portable in its first week of sale!  Unfortunately, there has not been any announcement for a release for both North American or European gamers, but by the looks of how well it is going over in Japan, there could be a good possibility that Sega will ship it on over for the PSP.

Posted on 24 June 2008 by Aaron Barnett

Sega has announced that Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, BioWare’s new RPG for the DS, now has its own spot on the internet. The site is actually not your standard site, as it’s essentially the DS game in website form. Use the mouse controlled stylus to move Sonic around, talk to characters, and find information on the game. If this is how Sonic will be controlled, the game doesn’t seem it will be as bad as people think, let’s just hope it’s a bit smoother. Link after the break.
